The Manchester Municipal Corporation (MMC) hereby notifies the public that a section of Villa Road, Mandeville, Manchester will be closed to vehicular traffic from Sunday June 28, 2020.
The closure, which will be in the vicinity just below the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo.), will commence at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday June 28, 2020 and is scheduled to last for approximately four (4) weeks. This is to facilitate the drilling and construction of a soakaway to alleviate flooding along that section of roadway.
During the period of closure, motorists travelling from deCarteret Road, Levy Lane and Wesley Road can access businesses up to JPSCo. and Steak House beyond which they will not be able to proceed, while motorists entering from Main Street can access businesses up to the Retirement Home located at Six (6) Villa Road but must exit (back) unto Main Street.
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to proceed with caution during the period of closure and to observe the instructions of the flag persons and posted warning signs.
