The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) has designated January Earthquake Awareness Month under rhe theme "Community Strengthening and Awareness.......the Recipe for Building Earthquake Resilence"
Earthquake awareness month is aimed at educating the public about earthquake preparedness and mitigation.
Mrs. LaJean Powell-Richards, Parish Co-ordinator, Disaster Preparedness at the Manchester Parish Council conducted an earthquake drill at the Frankfield Primary and Infant School located in South Manchester and also addressed a community group at the JAMALCO Plant in Clarendon on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.
