MILE GULLY - MANCHESTER: The Manchester Parish Council in collaboration with Tax Administration Jamaica conducted an outstation facility at the Mile Gully Community Centre on Thursday, February 26, 2015. This is in an effort to improve property tax collection for the parish which is logging behind in its collections for 2014/15.

The public is reminded that they can conveniently pay their property tax on line via the TAJ's Portal at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm using a credit card. Persons may however continue to pay their property tax at any of the 29 tax offices across the island. Individuals paying by cheque may also pay using the electronic drop boxes located in selected main tax offices.
For property owners who are not sure how much tax is owed, they are reminded that they may check using the Property Tax Query Online Service. This allows persons tp log on to the TAJ website and enter their valuation number, to check the status of their property tax, going back seven (7) years.
Property tax becomes due on April 1 each year and may be paid in full, half yearly or quarter yearly installment. Half yearly installments are to be made on April 1 and October 1 each year while quarterly installments are to be made on April 1, July 1, October1, and January 1, Whether payment is made in full or in installments, first payments made after April 30 may attract a 10% penalty.
More property tax collected means improved delivery of services such as: street lighting, parochial road repairs and garbage collection and disposal.
