Launch of Research into Work on Constitutional Reform

The Jamaica Civil Society Coalition (JCSC) and the Caribbean Vulnerable Communities (CVC) Coalition will launch new research on constitutional reform in Jamaica. The research reviews previous work around constitutional reform, such as the previous Constitutional Commission, documents existing citizen concerns with the present constitution, and surveys progressive, citizen-inclusive procedures for conducting reform. The research details a wide range of salient reform proposals ranging from electoral processes, to local government, human rights, and accountability of elected officials.
As an important stakeholder, we are pleased to invite you and any representatives from your office to a forum to discuss the research findings, and identify actionable solutions. We would also appreciate your assistance in mobilising Members of Parliament, Councillors, Chamber of Commerce and community members from the parish to attend the forum. The forum will take place on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Golf View Hotel, 5 ½ Caledonia Road, Mandeville,  Manchester from 5:30-7:30pm. The forum is open to the public and will have live outside broadcast.
